Contact – Religion vs Science

I've read the book Contact by Carl Sagan as an assignment for a university course. My reflections about it follows below.

Snooping Bosses

You are being watched almost whatever you do and wherever you go. If you walk the streets of a mid-sized city you probably walk by a security cam. If you sit at home and surf the web you leave traces on several places: on your hard disc, at your Internet supplier and at the website you enter. At work someone can record your conversations, read your emails or even ask you to do a urine test. You might think that this doesn't affect you because you got nothing to hide. No matter what you think about the big brother society, it might have more impact on you than you think.

Consumption

Does stuff make us happy? Can we buy happiness? Are we successful if we have what's expected? At Storystuff.com you can see a movie which will make most of you reflect about your lifestyle. Be prepared for 20 minutes of thought-provoking information.
